Funding Announcement
UPDATE DECEMBER 2021
Our new IRB is finally ready to go! It got the tick of approval from the Patrol & our Nippers over the weekend.

UPDATE
Our new IRB has arrived! and will be entering service soon. We will upload more photos once sign writing is complete and the motor has been attached. We can’t wait to get it in the water.

A huge thankyou to the IMB Bank who, through their Community Foundation Grants 2020, will be providing Fairy Meadow SLSC with the funds to purchase a brand-new Inflatable Rescue Boat or ‘IRB’.
Our current IRB is over 7 years old and our secondary or back-up IRB is over 13 years old, they are becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive to maintain in a rescue ready condition. For a little over a decade the club has utilised twin hull IRBs, although these craft have unique advantages, they are out classed by the newer single hull designs. The club is excited to be transitioning back to using single hull IRBs (as is now the requirement of SLSA). The single hull craft are lighter, faster, and more maneuverable making them an exceptional rescue craft that will improve our response capabilities on Patrol and after hours.
Fairy Meadow SLSC in the past has regularly responded to emergencies from the Caravan Park at Towradgi and as far down as Puckeys Beach. We have also responded to Search and Rescue operations far outside of these areas. This new IRB will be used for Patrol, Support operations, and for water safety for our Junior activities. Thank you again to the IMB Bank for their support of our Club, our Members, and our Local Community.
