Join our team this summer
Patrolling the beach takes a multidisciplinary team. Not every role on a patrol team requires you to be a strong swimmer.
Our Lifesavers are trained in CPR, first aid, advanced resuscitation, radio communications, patrol operations, rescue techniques, and more.
As lifesavers we designate a flagged area for swimmers, provide supervision and educate the public on how to stay safe. We administer first aid when required and are always ready to administer CPR in the unlikely event that someone on our beach goes into cardiac arrest.
While our main focus is prevention, when required, we perform rescues using a variety of equipment and power craft.
Not confident in the surf? We provide all the training you need and can develop a training plan to help you reach your goals. While you are developing your skills and becoming more confident in the surf you will still patrol as part of our team, utilising your first aid and radio communications skills while learning on the job.
Being a member of a Surf Club is about more than just patrolling a beach. Members at FM make friends for life, learn leadership and communication skills and can obtain a range of nationally-recognised qualifications.
Members have the opportunity to gain experience in leadership, administration, education, digital media, lifesaving, and junior activities. It is a great way to develop skills and build your CV!
You also get access to our well-equipped gym, use of our surf boards when ever you like, and access to shower and change room facilities.
If you’re joining with family or friends all you need to do is let us know and we will make sure you are placed on the same patrol team.
For those not looking to join, you can support us with a donation.
