Member Protection
Surf Life Saving Clubs are committed to the protection, welfare and wellbeing of all members and are dedicated to providing a positive and safe environment in line with the SLSA Member Protection Policy and Child Safe Policy.
We take an inclusive approach, dedicated to being open to all members of the Australian community and providing a safe environment, ensuring all members are treated with respect and dignity and are protected from discrimination, harassment and abuse.
Surf Life Saving strives to create a safe and nurturing environment for everyone participating in surf lifesaving by following the Member Protection Code of Conduct.


Child Safety
Fairy Meadow Surf Life Saving Club is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person who takes part in our activities, programs, events or services. The Child Safe Code of Conduct applies to all members and associated parties as outlined in the Child Safety Policy
Surf Life Saving NSW members who work directly with children under the age of 18 must complete a Working with Children Check (WWCC), unless their role is exempt under the legislation.

FM has moved to Slack for our main platform for internal communication. Members can join via a link provided in your emails and the FM Newsletter. You may also contact the Social Media Officer to receive the link.
Slack allows us to break up our communication into separate channels – meaning you only receive information relevant to you! you can edit your notification settings for each individual channels.
Members can direct message each other or post in a channel, join working groups and collaborate, upload files and much more.
Slack is available on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows


Keep up to date with the FM Newsletter
Our FM Newsletter is released monthly via email and is uploaded to our website a few weeks later. The Newsletter provides members with the latest updates and the key points from our most recent Surf Club meetings.

SLS Apps
Surf Lifesaving has gone digital. You can now download the ‘publications’ app, ‘eLearning app’, and
Patrol operations app’. The publications app allows members to access purchased manuals including the PSAR35. The eLearning app allows members to complete online learning modules on your mobile device. The patrol operations app allows patrol captains to manage their patrol on their phone on a Sunday.

The FM Club Calendar
We are trialing a Club Calendar that members can use to make sure they never miss an event! The Calendar is out now and has been circulated to Members. If you’d like to download the calendar to your phone contact education@fairymeadowslsc.com or check the Newsletter
