Fairy Meadow beach is one of 17 Patrolled beaches in the Illawarra region. The beach is situated just three kilometers north of the Wollongong central business district.
Fairy Meadow beach is Patrolled by Volunteer Lifesavers and Council Lifeguards from September through to April each year. There is plenty of free parking and we are 500 metres from the Wollongong free shuttle bus and 800 metres from the Fairy Meadow train station.
Located adjacent to Fairy Meadow Surf Club, Puckeys Estate is an annex of the Wollongong botanic gardens. A unique habitat, Puckeys Estate is made up of rainforest, dunes, and marshlands. It is home to 130 bird species and several endangered plant species. Learn more
Cycle & walking track
A fantastic way to enjoy the Illawarra coast is along one of the many shared pathways that stretch along our coastline. Setting off from Fairy Meadow beach is easy, with ample parking right next to the pathway. You can ride south towards the city or head north towards Thirroul.
Play Equipment and Picinic area
Just next to Fairy Meadow Surf Club is a large grassed area, with areas of shade from trees. There is play equipment for Children. Offering the perfect place to relax and have a picnic.
